Shri Rambhapuri Jagadguru
Veer Gangadhar College of Arts & Commerce, Shiggaon
is an unique institution of its own to impart higher education
in Arts and Commerce. It was established in 1985 (*Affiliated
to Karnatak University Dharawad) Affiliated to Haveri University
Haveri recently. The College is named after late His Holiness
Shri Rambhapuri Jagadguru Veer Gangadhar Mahaswamiji of
Balehonnru. The College has its own significance to impart
higher education to women, rural students irrespective of
caste, class, gender & creed. It is the only one institution
to provide Higher education for the rural students of this
taluka right from 1985 to 2007. The College has 3.16 Acres
of land & own building situated near by NH- 04. The
premise comprises of Library, Gymkhana halls, Play ground,
canteen facility etc. The college has adopted democratic
principles and social justice concept. It has beautiful
garden and greenery around the campus and helps for good
health.
The college started with
merely 81 students & 6 staff members in 1985. But today
it is educated around 12000 students in arts & commerce
streams. Well qualified & state level award’s
and most experience staff is ready to provide service to
pupils for their overall developments. The library adopted
modern technology like e-library, it has periodicals, journals,
magazines, news papers etc.Its helps to enhancement of students.
Language lab, computer lab & commerce lab made available
to students.
The college received plenty
of UGC Grant for its infrastructure and academic developments
right from 2010 to till today. The College has been accredited
with ‘B+’ (2.73 CGPA) third cycle by NAAC in
Feb 2023. The management interested to introduce more UG
& PG Courses in coming days for students needs.
It is a proud thing to say
that many of students who completed their degrees from this
college they chaired key posts in society. En number of
students achieved lot in University level sports. Most of
students attended as blues in inter-university & national
level events.
